NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF
THE PALM SPRINGS PFLAG CHAPTER
After considerable deliberation, the Board of Directors of PFLAG Palm Springs/Desert Communities unanimously voted on February 12, 2023, to dissolve the local Chapter.
(Due to administrative considerations, the official date of dissolution is yet to be determined.)
As such, please be advised that, effective immediately, we are no longer accepting
memberships or donations to our Chapter.
Thank you for your membership,
generous contributions and support to PFLAG Palm Springs in the past.
2023 is a landmark year for us.
Not only are we celebrating the 50th Anniversary of PFLAG’s founding nationally,
we are also commemorating 30 years since George and Jacquie Spencer
introduced the budding Idyllwild/San Jacinto PFLAG Chapter to the desert.
In 1995 the Spencer’s formally established the Palm Springs/Desert Communities Chapter
at a time when few resources existed locally
for LGBTQ+ people or their families, friends and other allies.
Now that we are celebrating the many resources available in Palm Springs
and the western Coachella Valley, we are hopeful that families in the east Valley,
Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley and beyond will reignite the PFLAG torch where it is needed most.
In the meantime, please contact PFLAG national directly for support, education and advocacy.

PFLAG is creating a caring, just,
and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people
and those who love them.
